ETHX Softcon implements six Microsoft Dynamics 365 practice areas. They are Finance & Operations, Business Central, Sales and Customer Engagement, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, and Power Platform. Each project runs from assessment and design through configuration, testing and a phased go-live. Managed services follow.
Finance & Operations is for enterprises. It covers finance, supply chain, manufacturing and project accounting. Business Central is for small and mid-market businesses. The customer engagement practice covers Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and Marketing. Supply Chain Management serves manufacturers, distributors and third-party logistics providers. Power Platform covers Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate and Copilot Studio.
Pilots usually run four to six weeks for Supply Chain Management and four weeks for the customer engagement apps. After a Finance & Operations go-live, clients typically get four to eight weeks of hypercare, then managed services.
Should a business choose Business Central or Finance & Operations?
Business Central suits small and mid-market businesses, including those outgrowing QuickBooks or a smaller ERP. It covers finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and projects on one platform, with multi-currency and multi-company setups. Finance & Operations suits enterprises. It adds deeper manufacturing, supply chain and project accounting across several entities and countries, with statutory localisations for the US, Japan, India and the EU. ETHX Softcon recommends Business Central SaaS where it fits and also supports on-premises deployment. When Business Central is not a fit, it proposes Finance & Operations instead.
Can ETHX Softcon migrate us to Dynamics 365 from another system?
Yes. ETHX Softcon moves AX 2012 customers to Finance & Operations in the cloud. It runs full Salesforce to Dynamics 365 Sales migrations, including data, custom objects and user training, and has migrated from HubSpot too. It moves QuickBooks, Sage and Dynamics NAV users to Business Central, with historical balances, customers, vendors and items. It also moves Workday and other legacy HR systems to Dynamics 365 Human Resources. Business Central migrations include a parallel run against the old system during user acceptance testing.
